The Prisoner

67 footsteps down
To the prisoner underground
Taken his body and surrounded his soul
But his words cannot be found

The mighty river rolling by
Knows his song must never die
Wraps up his lyric in a current so strong
And an ancient melody

How long, how long
Till the prisoner sings his song
When the river speaks his words to the sea
He will finally be free

She presides in her Chateau
Inside a dream she’s always known
Continental birds sings orchestrally
But she does not hear a sound
